Trumansburg Police were called by citizens watching a JV football game at the school in regards to disorderly conduct by one visitor football player and some adults. The game was called with two minutes to play in the third quarter with Trumansburg ahead by 13-0.

Trumansburg was playing Watkins Glen on this particular night. There were a couple of events on the visitor side from different views but the Tburg players and fans were not involved from this perspective.

Newsworthy it’s not except for the fact I cannot remember when fans got so upset over whatever that they thought it was necessary to make verbal physical threats against the referee’s. It was surely a poor display to the boys of both teams. The thought that a game had to be called is a disgrace to sportsmanship in itself.

The referee’s were escorted to the school until police arrived. The refs just wanted to leave safely and they did not want charges filed. Police were assisted by a sheriff’s deputy and a state trooper.
