Trumansburg Police are seeking anyone with information on the two bomb threats and one actual minor explosion of a M80 type firecracker. All incidents occurred in the boy’s bathroom at the Trumansburg Middle School.

Police were called to investigate a note left in the boy’s bathroom on Tuesday. On Wednesday a M80 type firecracker was exploded with a fuse in the boy’s toilet. Later Wednesday another note was found saying another explosion would be occurring on Friday. Local and state police are investigating the incidents together. Police have persons of interest and the case is ongoing. Contact police at 387 6513.

May 4th

 

Trumansburg Police took custody of Candy Tomberelli age 34 of 2550 Mecklenburg Rd Trumansburg from a Tompkins deputy who arrested her in Newfield on our warrant for Issuing Bad Checks. An arrest warrant had been issued by Town Ulysses Court for Issuing bad checks. She was processed and arraigned in Town Court and sent to Tompkins Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash, $10,000 secured surety.

She was remanded to jail and police notified Tioga Sheriff who has two more arrest warrants for Issuing Bad Checks. Her case is ongoing In Ulysses Court.

May 5th

 

Trumansburg Police have arrested an Interlaken man twice in the last ten days for violating an order of protection against a female. Police say they received reports that the defendant was driving into a private trailer park and then in front of her home. A week later May 5th the suspect called her on his cell phone at little after 2:00am in violation of the order not to contact and to stay away.

Arrested was Timothy J Haire Jr. age 25 of 3730 Morgan Rd  Interlaken. His case is ongoing in Ulysses Court. Haire was arrested for Criminal Contempt second degree, both are Class A Misdemeanors.

May 4th

Trumansburg Police arrested Jonathan G Applebee age 30 of 6160 Curry Rd Trumansburg, NY on May 4th at about 2:00am. Police state they observed Applebee traveling erratically going south on Rt 227 in the village. Police observed him going from the fog line to over the double yellow line three times. After the stop Applebee failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. He was brought to the station where he submitted to a chemical test which was over the .08 % BAC limit his results was  .17%
